A WARRINGTON Guardian investigation has revealed which streets in Warrington had the highest number of reported vehicle crimes.

Using data taken from the Home Office-run website police.uk, we have collated information from each month of 2023 to highlight the streets in Warrington with the most vehicle crimes reported.

The offences listed in the police.uk data are reported crimes; this means that some instances may have been reported twice, and some instances may not have been reported at all.

The streets where your car is most in danger, according to the data, are below:

  • Woburn Road – 7
  • Birch Avenue – 6
  • Northway – 6
  • Oliver Street – 6
  • Europa Boulevard – 5
  • Hardwick Grange – 5
  • Holmsfield Road – 5

Cheshire Police has issued advice to prevent vehicle crime, including ensuring your vehicle is locked when it is not in use, and that no windows are open or the sunroof.

Keep your keys safe, out of view when at home, and away from your front door.

Put the keys in a screened or signal-blocking pouch, such as a Faraday Bag and check if the bag or pouch is still working every few months.

It is also always advisable to avoid parking in dark and secluded areas.

In terms of theft from vehicles, ensure all valuables are taken with you and not left on show to potential thieves.

Leaving sat nav mounts, suction cup marks on windows or cables on view gives it away that you have left a Sat Nav, smartphone or other device in your car.

Vans are often targeted by thieves for the tools stored inside, so try to avoid keeping them in commercial vehicles overnight.
