CONGLETON people are invited to give up an hour to help influence the future of their town.

The call comes from town clerk Ian Fynn in a plea for people to attend next week's annual town council meeting.

The meeting takes place on Thursday May 22 at Congleton Town Hall at 7.15pm, and will last about an hour.

Although it is hosted by Congleton Town Council it is not a council meeting.

Anyone who lives and has a right to vote in the town is entitled to attend and speak at the meeting.

Top of the agenda will be the Congleton Town Centre Plan, which will be used to help guide development in the town and sets out a vision for Congleton's future.

"Many people are working very hard to make Congleton a special town in which to live and work," said Mr Fynn.

"Now we want to harness the strength of local people by asking them to give up just an hour of their time to help influence the future for our town."
