"SOMETIMES it's a show and sometimes it's like watching a homeless man!"
You could say that Geordie comedian Ross Noble is very modest when analysing his stand-up routine.
But as he meandered from one subject to the next, rarely managing to get to the point, you could see where he was coming from.
Not that this is a criticism. Noble may be utterly random, easily distracted and reliant on improvisation, but this is what the fans relish.
With hilarious stories on everything from shopping for prawns and Kinder Eggs, living life in a Jackie Chan-style and safari pole dancingon giraffes, Noble had the audience in fits of laughter. That's when they weren't bewildered, that is.
Part of the joy but also part of the frustration with Noble is that you never know what he is thinking. At one point in the show when he was trying to do an impression, he seemed genuinely vexed that the audience was heckling - but who knows, it could all be part of the routine.
