Bloom team in line for award

ALSAGER is in line for an award in its debut in the North West in Bloom competition.

The town is competing in the small town category, and has been nominated by the competition judges to receive an award.

Representatives of the town’s entry are to attend an award ceremony in Liverpool on October 7.

“Well done to everyone,” said the committee which spearheaded Alsager’s entry in the contest.

“This is the first time we have entered the competition, and we are delighted to have got off to such a good start.

“The Bloom effort was organised by representatives from Alsager Partnership and Chamber of Trade, supported by numerous traders, organisations and the town and borough councils.

“Much of the credit must to to the Streetscape team, who worked hard to look after the many planters and baskets, and have kept the town so clean and tidy.

“The committee members are not resting on their laurels, and are planning a winter planting scheme to keep the colour coming.”
