A SCHOOLGIRL is in wonderland after being chosen to take on her favourite storybook role, as the Lewis Carroll Society’s latest Alice.
Charlotte Theis, aged 10, from Sandymoor, Runcorn, will be a figurehead for the global society following her selection by the group’s Daresbury chapter.
Her father, Steve, revealed that the family is very proud and that in particular, Charlotte’s brother Sam, aged 5, is “really excited” about his big sister’s new role.
Charlotte, who enjoys dancing in her spare time, has already been involved with Alice-related activities, through the All Saints’ Church in Daresbury and her school, Daresbury Primary.
Her main task will be to make public appearances at various society-led events and she said that she cannot wait to start her duties after being inspired by her friend who was last year’s Alice.
The Daresbury chapter boasts the birthplace of renowned author Carroll, which is why it is granted the annual privilege of choosing ‘Alice’.
