A UNIQUE shared office in the heart of Liverpool’s commercial district has been launched to give companies the chance to grow and flourish.

The Business Hub is a trailblazing joint venture between The Heath Business and Technical Park in Runcorn and Liverpool John Moores University.

Dr Peter Cook, managing director of The Heath, said: “Merseyside is already at the cutting edge of science and business.

“By forging this new link with Liverpool John Moores University, we hope to promote business success and innovation in the region even more.

“It is an ideal marriage. By giving organisations access to both business and academic expertise, we are providing the best of both worlds.

“We now rate as one of the UK’s largest independent business parks, providing a base for nearly 200 thriving companies.”

The lounge, situated in Hatton Garden, Liverpool, will provide a gateway of expertise and resources for existing businesses and fledgling companies.

Professor Michael Brown, vice chancellor and chief executive of the university, said: “Given the current economic climate, it is even more vital that Merseyside businesses receive expert support in order to beat the recession.

“By combining the expertise of one of Europe’s largest and most successful business parks with LJMU’s strengths in research, consultancy and strategic management, we will be able to offer a comprehensive range of business services unrivalled anywhere else in Liverpool.”
