TO celebrate the Year of Reading youngsters at Penketh South Primary School added a twist to their annual book fair with a safari theme.

Parents and grandparents were invited to come into school to read with the children, some of whom were dressed in safari clothes or colours, others also wore masks and were dressed up as animals And the hall was decked out in a safari theme.

Head teacher, Angela Grace, said: “It was a great day for everybody and helped to prove once again that sharing books is a thoroughly enjoyable activity.

“We sold just over £600, which means we can spend £360 on books for the school libraries.”
