BIRCHWOOD construction hire company Ashtead Plant Hire (A–Plant) has triumphed at the Orange National Business Awards 2008.
A–Plant, based on Dalton Avenue, won The Growth Strategy of the Year Award at a ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.
Neil Beglin, A–Plant’s operations director, said: “It is great to receive a national accolade of this quality and it is great for all our people because they have worked so hard and they have done so well.
“I think they picked us on the strength of our strategy and what we have done to take the business forward. We have led the market.”
A–Plant is one of Britain’s leading non–operated equipment rental companies with more than 200 depots nationwide. It offers around 30,000 customers mainly in the construction and civil engineering field a vast range of equipment to hire including plant, tools and specialist equipment.
The awards, hosted by Andrew Marr and attended by Peter Mandelson, the secretary of state for business, were uniquely open to organisations of all sizes and from any industry sector, public or private.
They recognised and rewarded excellence, innovation and success and allowed the best of British businesses to showcase their achievements and benchmark their successes against firms and bodies of all types.
