POLICE are urging parents in South Cheshire not to buy mini motos for their children this Christmas.
According to Road Safety Officer PC Dave Murray, they should be avoided unless they are going to be used in the correct manner, on private land or at appropriate facilities.
During the past year officers have been called to numerous incidents involving mini motos that have not only caused a nuisance for local people, but have also put residents at risk.
PC Murray said: “The bikes are being ridden both on and off road by inexperienced riders who have very little or no driving experience.
“In some cases parents are aware of the existence of these machines and choose to ignore the risks associated with them.”
