REALTIVES and friends of the dearly departed will attend the Tree of Light Festival of Remembrance this afternoon at the main gate of Crewe Cemetery.
The event will take place at 4.30pm when the Tree of Light is lit up following a carol service.
The tree contains silver stars on which members of the public have written a dedication in memory of those they have lost.
This is the fifth year the Festival of Remembrance has been held and it has gone from strength to strength.
Mary Slinn, Cemeteries and Crematorium Manager, said: “The popularity of this Festival never ceases to amaze me. We have had people asking for stars as far back as July.
"This festival has become an important event for many people. It is a very personal time, but also one where people come together to be reunited in the act of remembering.”
