Gatcliffe keen to continue on-field improvement

WARRINGTON Wolves chief executive Andy Gatcliffe says the club are keen to continue improving their on-field performance after being awarding a Super League licence for the next three years.

Gatcliffe welcomed the RFL's decisions, which guarantees Wolves' place in the top flight until 2011, saying: "I’m delighted the club has been awarded a Super League licence, not that there was any doubt in my mind that we would not be successful!

"Especially given that here at The Halliwell Jones Stadium we have a ‘template’ stadium - with sport, health and education under one roof.

"We continually receive visits from clubs looking to follow our lead.

“Since moving to The Halliwell Jones Stadium the club continues to go from strength to strength off the field and on it.”

He added: "We want supporters to be assured that we will continually look to improve our on-field performance, which means, as well as making quality signings, developing home grown talent such as Kevin Penny, Mike Cooper and Chris Riley amongst others.

"Also, we have ambitious plans to improve and develop our stadium, keeping it at the forefront of rugby league stadia.”
