WARRINGTON Wolves will be keen to avoid a third straight defeat at Castleford on Sunday as they bid to go into the play-offs with some momentum.

Wolves had won seven out of eight since Jimmy Lowes took over but have since lost to St Helens and Hull KR.

Defeat to Castleford would put a serious dent in the form Wolves have put together in the second half of the season, with just one regular season game remaning against Huddersfield on September 5.

But Paul Wood says the squad should not even contemplate losing.

Wood, who was sent off for fighting in a stormy encounter at The Jungle in 2006, said: “Going into the play-offs you want to be winning games and taking a lot of confidence in to the games, which would be ideal.

“But we don’t even contemplate losing. You can’t. If you do, there’s a good chance you’ll get beat.

“We’re just going to go into this game concentrating on what we want to do and get the defence right, which has improved a lot in the last couple of weeks.

“Hopefully we can take that into the Huddersfield game and then the play-offs.”

Didnt go but watched it on sky. A disgrace dont know what the team were doing. Looked second rate all through the game. Dont deserve to be in the play offs but i am sure on performances like tonight they will be out very quickly. On these performances its about time wolves started reducing season tickets because i know of a lot that are not going to re new next year but that wont happen because they will always play on the fact that next year will be better. Dont think so somehow.

The more i think about tonights match the more it looks like some players wanted to play as badly as when we last played cass and Paul Cullen lost his job. That is not on players are on good money and James Lowes is a good coach he doesnt play on the field. Penny off didnt do us any good did it. Well done Benny as always you worked your socks off dont blame you if you leave us this year and reurn to yorkshire but would hate to see you leave we need a good pro like you.

i agree with all of the above, the team needs an overhaul, too many players are long in the tooth and dont seem interested anymore.Jimmy is a vgood coach but wont achieve anything in 12 months,i respect briers for his committment to wolves but i think he has had his day,we need a young up and coming half back ,my only choice would be dobson at hull kr.bring in sculthorpe,he still has 3 years left in him,
i think i would be tempted to show a few players ther door and buy in some top talemt in stead of waitng for free transfers.if the board dont sort this soon the club will end up as it was under higham, low attendances, which would be catstrophic in the long term.
i've heard that warrington are the club with the money, why arent we using it to buy the best talent from the other clubs?

here here dnk!
seems moran doesnt know what to do with the money doesnt it?
scully had his chance a couple of seasons ago but told us were to go so up his too!
we need the grit and passion in our ranks the luke dorns we need a player that tears the opposition to peices like he did with us and maybe toopi off leeds now hes been given the boot off leeds , there is plenty of talent in the shop window at the moment but briers, rahihi and a few others need to be shown the gate nearest to winwick road !
The match last night was the one that broke our hearts and we as a club are finished this term, i only hope we get an away game so i can save money by staying away , sorry but i bet im not on my own on this one another woe full season and proberbly another next season , getting stuffed 2 times by the tigers sums it all up dont it ?

always said that Lowes shouldn't gat the job. Crowd thought he was the beast thing since sliced bread and now he's got the job he's showing his true colours. He is just not good enough. Will he get the sack like Cullen!!!!

agree tizerbeast, but the rumours at the time scully left were that he hadn't been paid(i cant substantiate this, only a rumour)i do think he would make a difference to us,i would also like to see luke dorn at the club, hicks has been a revelation this season but he only has a two year contract(according to reports)
your dead right about being stuffed by cas home and away, how can anyone at the club honestly talk about winning superleague, wether its the players of the staff?

dnk correct mate ,
This club shows great times ahead one min then implodes on itself !
something has to be done soon and lowes is not the answer !
Idolness and huge salaries seems to be the code at wire , an easy pay day, cushy number , call it what you like ! as long as we pay good money week in week out the so called world beaters will just turn up and churn the odd result out , look at saints and leeds for god sake the likes of hkr and cas nevermind the likes of us get roasted week in week out . We turn it on now and again then blow it like always , your guess is as good as mine for the future of our club , and me for one cant wait for it to finish this term , cant see next being any better !
