Four Wolves players may face hearings

1:03am Monday 25th August 2008

FOUR Warrington Wolves players face an anxious wait to find out whether they will be banned after incidents during Sunday’s defeat at Castleford.

Adrian Morley was put on report for sliding in knees first on Mike Wainwright an hour into the 44-24 defeat and the Wolves skipper is likely to find out on Tuesday if he will be called to an RFL disciplinary hearing a day later.

Lee Briers could also be summoned after being sent to the sin bin and put on report for a late tackle on kicker Luke Dorn during the second half.

Matty Blythe was another to be placed on report by referee Ian Smith in the first half. Although the reason for that decision was unclear, it is most likely that Blythe was reprimanded for a tackle where he appeared to catch Stuart Donlan with a knee.

Ben Westwood was also sent to the sin bin in the closing stages for dissent and may be called to a hearing, as Paul Rauhihi was for a similar offence at Hull in June.

Wolves will be keen to avoid suspensions as they go into the final match of the regular season - at home to Huddersfield on September 5 - needing to win to secure a home play-off tie.
